Change operation conditions, times or venues
You must operate within the conditions of your liquor licence.
If your operation needs change, you can apply to change a condition or apply for a new authority.
Operating outside of the conditions and requirements of your licence is an offense.
Apply to change a condition
Complete the form for the condition you are applying to change and submit your form to Licensing NT.
A liquor licence holder can apply to have multiple nominees and can also request updates to existing nominees.

Nominees must:
- hold a responsible service of alcohol (RSA) certificate
- understand and follow the code of practice for the responsible advertising and promotion of liquor
- be a fit and proper person.

You can vary conditions to:
- change the hours of operation
- change operating conditions.

To move premises, also known as substitution of premises, you will need to complete both the application to vary a liquor licence and a new application.

You need Liquor Commission approval before making any major changes to your venue, inside or outside.
You don't need approval for minor changes such as repainting, new tiles or new carpet. If you're unsure, contact Licensing NT.

You can transfer your licence to:
- an individual
- a partnership
- a company.

You can apply to conduct the business of a deceased licence holder, also known as a licensee, if you are:
- the legal representative of the deceased licensee
- a member of the deceased licensee’s family who is 18 years or older, or
- the representative of a person or class of people claiming an entitlement in the estate of a deceased licensee.
If a liquor licensee dies, the licence continues until it:
- expires, or
- is cancelled under section 80 of the Liquor Act 2019.

A trustee or administrator can apply for approval to takeover a liquor licence from someone who has become bankrupt.
