Notify of financial difficulties
If you’re facing financial trouble like bankruptcy or insolvency, it can affect how your business operates and whether you're still fit to hold a liquor licence under the law.
What you must do
You must notify Licensing NT within 7 days so the director of liquor licensing can assess your situation.
A trustee or administrator can apply for approval to run your licensed premises.
When to notify
Notify within 7 days if you:
- become bankrupt
- apply for protection under a law that helps people with unmanageable debt
- make a deal with your creditors to pay off debt or hand over your assets
- are placed under administration or in liquidation.
If you don’t, you may be committing an offence under the law.
How to notify
Complete the form and email to liquorlicensing@nt.gov.au.
