Apply for a security licence as a company

Companies and partnerships that supply crowd control or private security services in the Northern Territory must be licensed.

Before you apply 

If you are applying as a corporation, you will need to identify the corporation's officers. These include people in the following roles:

  • director
  • secretary
  • executive officer
  • person involved in the corporation's management
  • person who can control or substantially influence your corporation's affairs.

If you are applying as a partnership, you will need to identify the partnership’s officers. These include people in the following roles:

  • partners
  • executive officer
  • person involved in the corporation’s management
  • person who can control or substantially influence your corporation’s affairs.

How to apply

To apply for a private security licence and pay the fee go to Licensing NT Online or follow these steps. 

Step 1. Fill out the form for your company or partnership

Step 2. Get all officers and applicants to complete a police history check.
Step 3. Check the fee.
Step 4. Submit your application and fee at your nearest Territory Business Centre.
