Senior years curriculum

This page has information on the curriculum and learning program for senior students.

In senior years your child follows the Australian Curriculum and the Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training (NTCET). 

Your child can also study for an apprenticeship or other vocational education and training.

Year 10 curriculum

Year 10 is the foundation year for the Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training (NTCET).

As part of the Year 10 curriculum your child must study the following subjects:

  • English or literacy
  • mathematics or numeracy
  • science
  • history
  • the arts
  • health and physical education.

Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training (NTCET)

Senior students (Years 10-12) study for the Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training (NTCET). This can include apprenticeship and vocational education and training studies.

Australian Curriculum mathematics and English are taught in Year 11 from 2016 within the South Australian Curriculum Certificate of Education (SACE) curriculum.
