Gambling industry licences
If you are involved in gaming, gambling or wagering in the Northern Territory (NT), you must have a licence.
The NT Racing and Wagering Commission manages licensing of sports betting activities. The executive director of Liquor, Gambling and Racing of Licensing NT issues all other forms of gambling licences.

Licensed industries and activities
The following are licensed industries and activities:
People who need licences
If you have a job in any of the above industries, you must have a licence.
This also applies if your job involves any of the following:
- supplying gambling equipment
- repairing gambling equipment
- supervising or operating gaming machines.

Online wagering operators and on-course bookmakers
If you hold a key position for an online wagering operator or on-course bookmaker, you must be licensed.

Racing employees
You must be licensed if you work at thoroughbred and greyhound race clubs.
This involves:
- greyhound industry participants including owners, trainers and attendants
- thoroughbred industry participants including trainers and jockeys.

Who manages licences
The gambling industry is managed by Licensing NT.
