Thoroughbred racing

Thoroughbred Racing Northern Territory (TRNT) oversees all aspects of horse racing in the NT.

It manages applications and registrations including:

  • jockey applications
  • trainer applications
  • visiting trainer permits
  • track rider medical forms.

Racing clubs

The 2 major thoroughbred race clubs in the NT are the Darwin Turf Club and the Alice Springs Turf Club.

Racing events

The Darwin Cup carnival runs annually from July to August.

The Alice Springs Cup carnival runs annually from March to April.

Thoroughbred racing regulator

Thoroughbred racing in the NT is regulated by the NT Racing and Wagering Commission.
