Wildlife in NT
The Northern Territory (NT) is home to a diverse range of native animals, ranging from insects and reptiles to marsupials and mammals.
Native animals are wild animals that can be found in natural areas such as national parks and reserves, as well as in our own backyards.

- crocodiles

- frilled neck lizard
- Gould's wattled bat
- green tree frog
- kangaroo and wallaby
- magpie goose
- magpie-lark
- marine turtles
- marked lapwing
- peaceful dove
- possum
- scrubfowl
- snakes
- spinifex hopping mouse
- whistling kite.
In addition to the native animals, the NT also has a large number of exotic animals. This includes:
- terrestrial vertebrates such as horses, donkeys and camels
- invertebrates such as ants, snails, spiders and cockroaches
- aquatic and marine life.
