There are four main mountain bike trails in the Alice Springs network.
The trails, named by traditional owners, are:
- Ilentye (galah)
- Arrwe (black-footed rock-wallaby)
- Tyape (witchetty grub)
- Apwelantye (black kite).
You can also ride along a section of the Larapinta Trail as part of the Tyape Trail.
To plan your ride, get the Alice Springs mountain bike trails .
There are trailheads at Schwarz Crescent, Spencer Hill and Wigley Gorge. The main trailhead is at the Alice Springs Telegraph Station.
Shelters and signs mark each trailhead and rust-coloured totems will help guide you through the trails.
