This is the best preserved station along the Overland Telegraph Line and is one of the original sites of European settlement in the township of Stuart, later renamed Alice Springs, established in 1872.
The reserve grounds are a relaxing spot to have a picnic under the gum trees and are an easy drive or bike ride from town.
If you're after a more physical challenge, try one of the mountain bike trails that start from the station.
The trails pass through stunning Central Australian landscapes.
There are also a number of short walks in the reserve. Section One of the Larapinta Trail begins here.
