If as part of your business, you intend to sell alcohol, you must have a liquor licence. Interstate retailers who would like to sell alcohol to the NT must apply for an interstate retailers licence.

In some cases, you don't need a liquor licence but must register instead.

- small community groups wanting to serve free alcohol
- businesses wanting to serve BYO alcohol
- providing free alcoholic drinks to customers
