You must book and pay online for designated campsites and some multi-day walking trails.
Do this before you go. You can't pay at the park.

You must book and pay a fee to camp in Northern Territory (NT) parks.
The fee will depend on the campground facilities. Camping areas with more facilities are usually more expensive.
Generators and caravans are only allowed in certain campgrounds.

Read below to find out about types of campgrounds and their fees.
Category A campgrounds
Category A campgrounds have moderate camping facilities that may include any of the following:
- showers
- toilets
- rubbish bins
- picnic tables
- cooking facilities or services
- barbecues
- tap water (may be potable).
Fees
The following fees apply:
- $10 per adult
- $5 per child (5 to 17 years)
- $25 per family (2 adults and 4 children).
Category B campgrounds
Category B campgrounds include outdoor education or youth camping areas.
They have basic to moderate camping facilities that may include any or all of the following:
- toilets
- picnic tables
- barbecues
- tap water.
Fees
The following fees apply:
- $4 per adult
- $2 per child (5 to 17 years)
- $10 per family (2 adults and 4 children).
Category C campgrounds
Category C campgrounds are managed by commercial operators.
Category D campgrounds
Category D campgrounds provide an exclusive camping experience.
These premium campgrounds are limited in number. Access is via a locked gate.
They are in an exceptional location and can include any of the following facilities:
- toilets
- picnic tables
- barbecues
- tap water.
Fees
The following fees apply:
- $20 per adult
- $10 per child (5 to 17 years)
- $50 per family (2 adults and 4 children).
Permit to camp overnight outside a designated area
You must get a permit to camp overnight outside of a designated camping area.
There are no facilities in the bush.
Fees
The following fees apply and can be paid at the time you apply for the permit:
- $4 per adult
- $2 per child (5 to 17 years)
- $10 per family (2 adults and 4 children).
