There are many parks and reserves to bushwalk and hike in the Northern Territory.
For some walks, you’ll need to be reasonably fit with some bushwalking experience.
To help you work out if a walk will suit your level of fitness and experience, each walk has been graded to assist you.
The grades are based on the walking track grading system.
Before you walk or hike, you should:
- check if you need to make a booking
- read about bushwalking and hiking safety.
Darwin region
- Litchfield National Park short walks - easy to difficult depending on the route
- Tabletop Track - moderate to difficult depending on the route

- Jatbula Trail - moderate to difficult
- you must book
- Nitmiluk National Park walks - moderate to difficult depending on the route
Tennant Creek and Barkly region
There are currently no bushwalks or hikes in this region.
Alice Spring region
- Larapinta Trail - moderate to difficult depending on the route

- Tjoritja / West MacDonnell National Park: Ormiston Gorge overnight walks - moderate to difficult depending on the route
- Tjoritja / West MacDonnell National Park: short walks - moderate to difficult depending on the route
- Trephina Gorge Nature Park short walks - easy to difficult depending on the route
- Watarrka National Park short walks - easy to difficult depending on the route
- Watarrka National Park: Giles Track - moderate
