Assessment and awarding
This section summarises how government assess submissions, and what you can expect once the assessment process is finished and you are notified of the outcome of the tender process.
Your submission is assessed based on selection criteria and weightings which vary depending upon the value and requirement of the works.
The process is managed by the government agency running that specific procurement.
Assessment time depends on the size and complexity of the contract. If you want to enquire about a tender assessment, contact the enquiries officer listed in the tender documents.
Notification of outcome
All suppliers are notified of the outcome by email, using the contact details in their submission.
If you're successful
You will receive a Notice of Acceptance, which means a contract has been awarded to you.
It includes details of:
- the contract value
- any other correspondence as part of the contract
- contact details for the contract manager
- an offer for a tender debrief.
You should arrange a kick-off meeting with the project officer to discuss next steps.
Read more about managing your contract.
If you're unsuccessful
You will receive a letter with the outcome. It will include:
- the name of the successful supplier
- the contract value
- an offer for a tender debrief.
A debrief helps you understand the strengths and weaknesses of your submission and how you can improve next time. It will only cover your response.
If you’re not offered a debrief, contact the officer listed in your tender documents or reach out to:
