When and how to submit reports on mineral titles
Reporting requirements differ for different types of mineral titles.
When they're due
The table below lists the types of reports and when they are due.
Activity and title type | Type of report and when due |
---|---|
Exploration on an exploration licence (EL) or exploration licence in retention (ELR) | Expenditure report: 30 days after the end of the operational year of the title. Annual report: 60 days after the end of the operational year of the title. |
Exploration in mineral lease (ML) or mineral authority (MA) | Annual and expenditure reports: 60 days after the end of the operational year of the title. |
Exploration on multiple titles of the same type with an approved amalgamated reporting application (EL, ELR, ML or MA) | Amalgamated annual report: nominated reporting date. |
Cessation of whole title or partial relinquishment of blocks on EL, ELR, ML or MA. | Final report 60 days after the date of surrender or relinquishment. |
Mining (ML, MA, EML) or EMP | Production report: 14 days after the end of the financial year. |
Exploration (ELR) or mining (ML) | Mineral resources and ore reserves report: 14 days after the end of the financial year. |
Discovery of mineral on EL | Notification of discovery within 28 days of discovery. |
How to format
The size limits for all attachments is 10MB. FTP facilities are available for data up to 5GB. Read more about formatting your reports.
Hard copies of reports are not accepted.
How to submit
You must not email reports or data to individuals in the department.
