Fatigue management

Introduction

The Northern Territory has developed a Road Transport Fatigue Management Code of Practice to assist employers and self-employed operators meet their obligation to provide and maintain a healthy and safe working environment.

This also ensures no other person is put at risk as a result of the work of an employer or any worker.

The adoption of the code by operators is voluntary with the onus on the operator to prove that their systems meet their work health and safety obligations. Western Australia has adopted a similar approach.

In this section you can find information on the code, fatigue management information for drivers, downloadable resources and contacts.
