Safer Sex
Safer sex is about lowering your risk of sexually transmissible infections (STIs) and unintended pregnancies.
You can lower your risk of some STIs by:
- using condoms or other barrier methods
- having routine STI tests
- knowing your HIV status
- getting vaccinated.
Free condoms
Find out where to get free condoms in the NT.
Regular STI testing
Visit your GP or find a sexual health clinic.
HIV prevention
PrEP and PEP are medications you can take to prevent HIV infection.

Vaccination
Vaccination is a safe and effective way to protect you against:
- hepatitis B
- hepatitis A
- HPV (human papillomavirus)
- Meningococcal
- mpox
