Become an education agent
You or your company can apply to become an international education agent for the Northern Territory (NT).
As an agent for NT government schools, you are expected to:
- actively recruit students for NT government schools
- provide ongoing support to your enrolled students for the duration of their program
- follow the:
- Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act 2000 and
- National Code of Practice for Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students 2018.

How to apply
To become a registered agent, follow these steps:
Step 1. Fill in the application.

Step 2. Email your application to internationalservice@education.nt.gov.au.
After you apply
Your application will be assessed and you will be notified of the outcome in writing.
If you're successful
If your application is approved, you:
- will receive a formal agent agreement or
- can opt to use your institution’s standard agent agreement.
The department's agreement sets out:
- your responsibilities as a representative
- the department's responsibilities as the registered training provider.
When your agreement is approved
Your agreement will be approved when both parties agree on the terms.
When you sign and return the agreement, you will be appointed as a representative.
You will receive marketing materials to use in promoting NT government schools.
Your appointment will be renewed subject to a performance review and compliance with the ESOS Act and National Code of Practice.
