Reporting and assurance

Reporting and assurance processes make sure procurement is transparent and accountable.

The current framework reflects the reforms introduced on 1 October 2025, which simplified buying processes and increased opportunities for local businesses.

Reporting and assurance measures:

  • provide visibility of contract awards
  • confirm agencies are following the procurement framework
  • support continuous improvement in government buying.

Disclosing awarded contracts

All NT Government contracts with a value of $50,000 or more are published online.

Each disclosure includes:

  • contract number
  • supplier name and address
  • description of goods, services or works
  • contract value and term
  • if the business is a Territory enterprise, Aboriginal business enterprise, or a women owned business.

This reporting allows suppliers and the public to see how government money is spent.

Performance reporting

Agencies must record supplier performance throughout the life of a contract.

Performance reporting considers:

  • quality and compliance with contract requirements
  • timeliness of delivery
  • communication and responsiveness
  • management of risks

Performance information is used in future procurement planning and when assessing new offers.

Value for Territory Assurance Program

The Value for Territory Assurance Program evaluates the effectiveness and outcomes of agency procurement activities, ensuring there is appropriate oversight and focus on continuous improvement in procurement performance.
