Apprentice and trainee funding
Applications now open
The 2027 User Choice funding round is now open.
Your registered training organisation (RTO) may be able to apply for User Choice funding to deliver training for apprenticeships and traineeships in the NT.
You may be able to apply for funding for your organisation to deliver the following:
- certificate II and III qualifications for new employees
- certificate IV or diploma for employees commencing employment or progressing from a lower level qualification
- one progression level for a student - for example, from certificate II to III, or certificate III to IV.
Benefits of funding
The program aims to give employers and their apprentices or trainees:
- a choice of RTOs
- the ability to negotiate key aspects of their training, such as where, how and when it's provided.
Who can apply
You must be an RTO provider to apply for and receive this funding.

Applications for the 2027 User Choice funding round are now open.

Applications close on Monday 5 October 2026.
RTOs information session
An online information session for this funding round will be held on Monday 14 September 2026.
To register your interest, email trainingoperations@nt.gov.au or call 08 8935 7711 by 4pm on Thursday 10 September 2026.
After you apply
You will be notified of the outcome by the end of November 2026.
You will be offered a training contract once your application has been approved.
You must maintain your status as an RTO for the duration of your contract.
