Bought an established home - HomeGrown Territory
Applications remain open
Eligible first-home buyers who signed a contract between 1 October 2024 and 30 September 2025 can apply within 12 months of settlement.
The HomeGrown Territory Grant extends the First Home Owner Grant to $10,000 for first-home buyers to put towards their purchase of an established home. This includes:
- houses
- townhouses
- apartments.
There is no cap on the purchase price.
Eligibility
To be eligible, you must:
- be a first-home buyer (not have owned a home before anywhere in Australia)
- have signed a contract to buy a home in the Territory between 1 October 2024 and 30 September 2025
- it must not replace other contracts signed before 1 October 2024
- be a person and not a company or trustee
- have at least one person over the age of 18
- ensure one applicant is an Australian citizen or permanent resident
- live in the home for at least 12 months after taking possession of the property (name is on the title).
All owners of the home must be applicants and meet the eligibility requirements.
The HomeGrown Territory Grant cannot be used in conjunction with the FreshStart New Home grant.
When is the grant paid
If applying through your financial institution, the grant will be paid to your lender once you have been found eligible.
If applying through the Territory Revenue Office, the grant is paid once settlement has occurred.

Applications are now open.
You must apply within 12 months of settlement.
You can apply through your financial institution or directly with the Territory Revenue Office.
