The Administrator’s Medal of the Year Awards 2026
Territorians are invited to recognise the exceptional commitment of NT Fire and Emergency Services (NTFES) members and volunteers who dedicate their time to protect the NT community. Nominations close 27 August 2026.
NTFES members respond to bushfires, life-threatening incidents, cyclones and floods. Their rapid response provides reassurance and stability when communities need it the most. Beyond responding to emergencies, they play a critical role in helping Territorians prepare, recover and rebuild.
Nominations are now open for the Administrator’s Medal of the Year 2026. For the first time, Bushfires NT now has a dedicated award, creating a new opportunity to recognise the outstanding contributions of their members who protect the community.
Territorians are encouraged to submit nominations across 4 award categories:
- Career Firefighter of the Year
- Auxiliary or Volunteer Firefighter of the Year
- Emergency Service Employee or Volunteer of the Year
- Bushfires NT Volunteer or Employee of the Year.
How to nominate
Nominees must have served with NTFES during the past 12 months. All nominations will undergo employment and meritorious service verification.
Strong nominations should clearly explain how the nominee:
- protects the community
- exhibits professionalism
- builds trust and engagement.
The awards will be presented by His Honour the Honourable David Connolly, Administrator of the Northern Territory later this year.
