Apply for funding to support your community project

Round 2 grants for the Community Benefit Fund are now open to support Territory not-for-profit organisations to deliver services, programs and events to Territorians.

The Community Benefit Fund provides much-needed financial support to community organisations so they can continue to deliver services for Territorians. This funding is a fantastic way for organisations to increase their capacity, service delivery and to build on the important work that they do.

Do you have a project that will benefit the community? Attend an information session in your area to find out more about the Community Benefit Fund:

  • Darwin at the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, on Monday 15 and 22 January 2024 at 5:30pm.
  • Alice Springs at Double Tree by Hilton on Wednesday 17 January 2024 at 12pm, 3pm and 5pm.
  • Katherine at Knotts Crossing Resort, on Wednesday 17 January 2024 at 12pm and 5:30pm.

The current round of Community Benefit Fund Grants open for application include:

  • Major Community Grants: funding of up to $250,000 is available to provide services, leisure activities and opportunities to Territorians.
  • Community Event Grants: funding of up to $250,000 is available to conduct major community events for the benefit of Territorians.
  • Vehicle Gifting Grants: available to assist not-for-profits to improve business operations and transportation requirements.
  • Gambling Amelioration: funding to support the promotion of community awareness and education in respect of problem gambling.

In 2022-23, around 362 community organisations and not-for-profits shared in more than $17 million in grants.

The Community Benefit Fund receives money from levies imposed on the operation of electronic gaming machines in licensed hotels throughout the Northern Territory and is an important source of funding for gambling-related research and amelioration programs focused on ways to reduce gambling-related harm.
