State Funeral for Mr Lawrence Costa MLA, former Member for Arafura
A state funeral will be held at 9am on Wednesday 1 March for Mr Lawrence Costa MLA, former Member for Arafura.
The service will be held at St Mary’s Star of the Sea Cathedral, 90 Smith Street, Darwin.
Mr Costa was a Tiwi Islander man from Pitjarmirra Outstation north of Melville Island in the Northern Territory.
For 6 years, he served his communities of Tiwi Islands, Maningrida and West Arnhem in the Arafura electorate for the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly.
Before his appointment, Mr Costa held leadership roles in local government councils and committees.
He also worked for the Department of Health helping young people across the Tiwi Islands.

Seating will be reserved for those attending in an official capacity and for immediate family.
All other seating will be in order of arrival. Following the service, light refreshments will be provided.
