Activities and events in parks
Parks and Wildlife NT host a range of free activities and events in parks and reserves across the NT.
These activities and events are held throughout the year and are open to people of all:
- ages
- interests
- fitness levels.
They are a great way to experience the NT's natural and cultural heritage.
When you visit NT parks, make sure you rate them on the TripAdvisor website.
Territory Parks Alive
Territory Parks Alive is the dry season program that runs every year from 1 May to 30 August.
Activities in 2025 include:
- guided walks through key landscapes
- campfire talks under the stars
- Be Crocwise presentations about crocodile safety
- nocturnal spotlighting walks
- bush foods and bush medicine talks
- slideshow evenings and storytelling sessions
- ranger-guided tours of Henbury Meteorites Conservation Reserve.
These activities are a great way to meet a ranger and learn more about the plants, animals and cultural stories of NT parks.
One-off activities
- Explore Tjoritja National Park by bike:
- a guided ride through the West MacDonnell Ranges
- register via the Eventbrite website
- Cycle under the stars:
- an evening ride and storytelling session at Simpsons Gap
- register via the Eventbrite website
- Night spotting at Howard Springs Nature Park:
- discover wildlife that appears after dark
- register via the Eventbrite website

When you attend an activity, you must:
- wear a hat, sunscreen and suitable footwear
- have an adequate supply of drinking water
- observe COVID-19 and social distancing advice.
