NXT Gen ARTS grants
If you’re a Northern Territory (NT) artist or arts worker, you may be eligible for up to $10,000 to support a three-month placement with an arts organisation or creative industry business.
Host organisations can be:
- not-for-profit leading arts organisations registered and based in the NT
- for-profit creative industry businesses registered and based in the NT.
Who can apply
To be eligible, you must be aged 18 to 25 at the time of applying.
You must also meet other eligibility requirements in the Arts and Culture Grants Program guidelines.
When to apply
Applications are open and will close on 15 November 2021.

If you have a confirmed placement
If you have a confirmed placement, you will need to:
- apply online through GrantsNT and
- submit a placement plan with the organisation as part of your application.
The template is available on GrantsNT.
As part of the plan, you will need to provide a budget. Up to 15% of the grant will go to the organisation to cover administration fees.
If you don't have a confirmed placement
If you don't have a confirmed placement and are unsure which organisation to work with, follow these steps:
Step 1. Fill in an expression of interest form .
Step 2. Submit the form to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Step 3. ArtsNT will contact you to match an organisation with your career goals, pending availability.
Step 4. Once you and the organisation agree to the arrangements, you can apply online through GrantsNT.
After you apply
Applicants will be notified of funding outcomes from 20 December 2021.
You can only start activities after the funding agreement is signed.
Placements are expected to start from 1 February 2022.
