How to report a scam

You should report any scams to the Northern Territory Consumer Affairs on 1800 019 319 or consumer@nt.gov.au.

They can tell the public about the scam through the media and social media.

You can also report scams to SCAMwatch, which provides information to consumers and small businesses about how to:

  • recognise
  • avoid and
  • report scams.

Reporting identity theft

You should report any identify theft to the Australian Cybercrime Online Reporting Network (ACORN).

ACORN is a national online system run by police that allows the public to securely report cybercrime.

Their website gives more information on cybercrime, including what it is, and how you can protect yourself.
