Alcohol penalties and offences
Penalties for alcohol-related offences can range from fines to jail time, depending on how serious the offence is. You can also be given a banned drinker order.
Infringements and maximum penalties

| Breach of a restricted premises | 1 penalty unit | 100 penalty units |
| Breach of a general restricted area | 2 penalty units | 200 penalty units or 12 months jail |
| Breach of a Special Restricted Area | 2 penalty units | 200 penalty units or 12 months jail |
| Breach of a prohibited public place | Not applicable | The person may be searched and liquor may be seized and disposed of. |
| Breach of an Interim alcohol protected area | Not applicable | 200 penalty units or 12 months jail |
