If your small business was recently broken into, you may be eligible for up to $1,000 through the Business Re-Secure Program to help secure your premises.
Biz Secure Program
The Biz Secure Program provides financial assistance to help Territory businesses improve the safety and security of their facilities against break-ins and crime.
Who can apply
To apply, your business must:
- be a Territory Enterprise (for-profit or not-for-profit), a landowner (landlord), or a body corporate under the Unit Titles Act (NT) 1975.
- not be an excluded recipient.
- owns or lease premises in the NT.
- have at least one Territory Enterprise actively trading from the premises
- be fully compliant with relevant legal obligations.
Security work for Biz Secure must be done by a registered supplier.
What you can apply for
Eligible businesses can apply for multiple security upgrades per premises, with a funding cap of $15,000 (GST exclusive) per location.
The NT Government will cover 75% of approved costs, up to this cap.
What is included
Eligible works will either be standard works or non-standard works.
Standard works include:
- access door repairs
- access door replacement with heavy-duty, secure alternatives
- lock works and hardware
- security screens
- window replacement with more secure alternatives
- glass replacement with secure alternatives
- lockable fencing
- bollards
- access control / jump barriers
- duress alarm
- intruder/trespasser alarm (warning sounds)
- outdoor security and sensors lighting.
Non-standard works require a security audit and must be recommended through the Biz Secure program. These include:
- CCTV
- access key fobs
- smoke blankets
- landscaping.

Before you apply
Before applying, you should:

- Request a quote from your nominated supplier, they must be registered to accept Biz Secure vouchers. A list of registered suppliers is available on the GrantsNT website.
- Prepare the supporting materials:
- a valid quote for the security works
- photos of the proposed work area
- a floorplan/map of the proposed work area
- if your business is a Trust, the Trust Deed
- if you are leasing the premises, a recent utility bill and written consent from the owner.
