Using an NT Government bore

You need to get approval if you want to use an NT Government bore.

When you need approval

Third parties may apply to use government-owned bores for many purposes, including:

  • science and research
  • monitoring the water resource
  • extracting water for stock and domestic purposes.

How to apply

It may take at least 20 business days to process an application. Apply as early as possible.

Follow these steps:

Step 1: Fill in the application form:

Step 2: Provide the supporting documents relevant to the proposed access.

Step 3: Submit the application by emailing water.licensing@nt.gov.au.
