No warning system is foolproof.
Fires can happen suddenly and change quickly, so don’t rely on receiving a warning.
It’s your responsibility to stay informed and alert.
Read below for different ways you can keep up-to-date on bushfires in the Northern Territory (NT), or go to the SecureNT website.

Get bushfire alerts, warnings and fire ban information from Bushfires NT by email.
SecureNT
SecureNT is your centralised website for emergency alerts and warnings.
You can also find the:
- fire incident map that provides near-real time incident information and warnings from the NT Fire and Rescue Service and Bushfires NT
- most up-to-date information on bushfire alerts from Bushfires NT.

Bureau of Meteorology (BoM)
For weather warning and fire weather forecasts, go to the Australian Government's BoM website.
Radio
The local ABC radio is the national emergency broadcaster.
You can:
- listen online through the ABC Darwin website or the ABC listen app
- tune in to your local ABC radio.
For other radio stations, go to SecureNT website.
North Australia Fire Information (NAFI)
The Northern Australian Fire Information service displays maps of fire activity based on information from satellites.
Use the maps to see:
- hotspots - locations of recently burning fires
- fire scars - maps of recently burnt country.
