Lost property on a bus
If you have lost property on a bus in Darwin or Alice Springs, you can report it online or call to notify the transport department.
Before you report
The public bus team will hold on to lost property for up to 28 days depending on the item.
If the owner hasn't collected it by the end of the 28 days, then it is disposed of.
Items that are soiled, smelly or perishable will be disposed of immediately.
The following items must be handed in to the NT Police:
- passports
- valuable documents
- expensive jewellery
- cash over $100
- dangerous items
- illegal items or substances
- firearms or any item that may be used as a weapon.

When an item is identified as belonging to you, you can claim it.

Opening hours are Monday to Friday 6:45am to 4:30pm and Saturday 9am to 1pm.
Alice Springs
Call the CDC NT depot manager on 08 8952 5611.
Opening hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 3:30pm.
