Apply for a traffic management ID card

You can apply for a traffic management ID card if you have completed training with an approved provider.

These cards include:

  • Workzone Traffic Management (WZTM) ID card or
  • Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) ID card.

The Territory Business Centre (TBC) is responsible for issuing them including replacement cards.

They do this on behalf of the Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics (DIPL).

If approved, your card will be valid for 3 years from the date its issued.

Training

From February 2024, the old NT WZTM training is no longer available. This means you must complete the new training before your current qualification expires.

The NT transition period is from February 2024 to February 2027.

During this period, new TTM ID cards will list:

  • existing Workzone qualifications and
  • the new TTM qualifications until the old Workzone qualifications are:
    • expired or
    • replaced with the relevant new TTM qualification.
