Artists in Schools Grant

Through the Artists in Schools Grant, schools can get funding to employ an NT artist to co-design and deliver a creative project with students, teachers and the wider school community.

Examples:

creative projects that enhance the school environment, such as murals, sculpture gardens and site-specific works
multimedia and digital arts projects, including installations, documentary films, podcasts, photography or animation
creating and presenting live performance works, including dance, music and theatre
support cultural learning, storytelling, language or intergenerational knowledge sharing
collaborative arts projects that build student confidence, connection and wellbeing through participation in the arts.

Funding available

You can get up to:

$7,000 for one school per application
$10,000 for 2 or more schools per application.

Who can apply

To be eligible:

you must read and meet the Artists in Schools Grant guideline
the activity must have a clear arts and cultural outcome
artists working with children must hold a current Ochre Card.

open on 1 February 2027
close at 2pm on 15 March 2027.

Applications are assessed by a panel.

You will be notified of the outcome from 13 April 2027.

If approved, you can only start activities after the funding agreement is signed.
