Small Business Recovery Assistance Grant

If you are a small business in a disaster-affected local government area (LGA), you may be eligible for disaster assistance.

This assistance is jointly funded by the Commonwealth and the Northern Territory governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.

What you can get

You can apply for a recovery grant of up to $10,000 for activities related to the clean-up and reinstatement of your impacted business.

This may include:

  • covering the cost of engaging existing employees to carry our or assist in clean up
  • immediate clean-up, including safety inspections
  • removing debris and damaged goods
  • essential repairs and reinstatement of fixtures and fittings
  • replacing or leasing equipment or materials necessary for business to immediately resume
  • replacing lost stock essential before business can resume
  • costs of occupying temporary premises if essential for immediate operations
  • insurance excess relating to eligible reinstatement cost.

Who can apply

Small businesses impacted by the Top End and Big Rivers Region severe weather and floods in March 2026 in the local government areas (LGA) of:

  • Katherine
  • Coomalie
  • Litchfield
  • Roper Gulf
  • Victoria Daly
  • West Daly
  • West Arnhem
  • Belyuen
  • Wagait.

This also includes the unincorporated areas of:

  • Greater Darwin
  • Cox-Daly
  • Marraki- Douglas Daly.
