MVR transactions at your post office

You can do all of the following:

• renew your NT driver licence and get a new photo taken if you need to:
  • if you have restricted conditions on your NT driver licence, you must visit your local MVR office
  • if you have an occupational authority (endorsement) that is also due for renewal, or an XA condition on your NT driver licence, you must visit your local MVR office
• renew your NT vehicle registration for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months:
  • submit your roadworthy inspection if required
• update your contact details:
  • sign up to receive SMS reminders
• transfer your interstate licence to the NT:
  • you must provide your interstate driver licence card and evidence of your identity and residency
  • if you have restricted conditions on your driver licence, you must visit your local MVR office
• apply for a replacement driver licence card:
  • you will need your licence number.

If you don't have your renewal notice, you can still renew your registration or driver licence, you just need to show your ID.

If you have a renewal notice with a Post Billpay barcode, you can go to an Australia Post office to renew your NT:

• driver licence
• vehicle registration for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months.

You can't use the Australia Post app to pay for your renewal. You must do this in person.
