Client authorisation for Land Titles Office transactions
If you're lodging an application with the Lands Title Office (LTO on behalf of a client, they must give you authorisation to do so.
A client authorisation is a document that enables a party to a transaction (the client) to authorise a conveyancer or lawyer to act on their behalf in that transaction.
Who this applies to
This applies to you if you're acting on behalf of a client as a:
- legal practitioner
- conveyancer
If you’re representing a client via eConveyancing
You and your client must fill in and sign the client authorisation form.
Signing the form also certifies that all steps have been taken to verify the identity of your client.
You are not required to show client authorisation form to the LTO, but rather retain it as evidence for subscriber compliance audits.

If you’re representing a client in paper
You and your client must fill in and sign the client authorisation form.
Signing the form also certifies that all steps have been taken to verify the identity of your client.
You must also complete a client authorisation declaration and lodge it with the dealing.
