You may be able to access funding from any of the following sources:

Sport Australia

The commission provides grants for all of the following:

  • women
  • leadership
  • representatives
  • Aboriginal people
  • volunteers.

Australian Sports Foundation

The Australian Sports Foundation fund programs designed to increase healthy activity levels and grow participation in sport.

Grants are distributed to support projects that improve access to sport for a range of people and communities.

The Jetstar Flying Start program provides funding of up to $30,000 for community groups and organisations.

Youth NT provides funding for innovative events, programs and projects that engage young Territorians.

Alcohol and Other Drugs Youth grants program

Grant funding of up to $20,000 is available for individual projects and activities aimed at preventing and reducing youth substance misuse in the NT.

The Immediate Work grants program is available for not-for-profit and community organisations to carry out:

  • improvements
  • repairs and
  • maintenance to property that they own or rent in the NT.

Biz Secure grants

Grants of up to $10,000 (for individual businesses) are available for organisations to make a range of permanent security improvements to better protect your business against the risk of break-ins.

Other sport and recreation grants

There are some grants you can receive where funding must be negotiated with Sport and Recreation of the Department of Territory Families, Housing and Communities. These grants aim to improve how your organisation delivers sport and active recreation to increase capacity.

Grassroots grant program

Grants of up to $5,000 are available for clubs and organisation in the Northern Territory to help people participate in sport and active recreation.

Quick Response grants

Grants of up to $10,000 are available to help organisations replace or repair damaged and or stolen facilities and equipment.

Grants can also be used to support Territorians representing Australia at recognised sporting events.

Territory Sports Academy Officiating Development grant

The officiating scholarship program is for peak sporting bodies or individuals such as:

  • umpires
  • referees and
  • judges.

It provides financial assistance for individuals to undertake professional development to maintain current accreditation or become eligible for:

  • national championships or
  • higher level accreditation.

Territory Sports Academy Coaching Scholarships

Coaching scholarships are awarded to coaches who are actively engaged in the coach development program and want to develop their athletes.
