Permit types and expiry

Permit typeExpiry
Permanent resident - new or renewal 3 years
Contractor Duration of contract, but no longer than 12 months
Visitor Duration of visit, but no longer than 3 months

Alyangula permit rules

In Alyangula with a permit, Alyangula residents, contractors or tourists can:

  • buy takeaway alcohol
  • drink at a private residence
  • drink at the town's clubs.

Outside of Alyangula you cannot drink even with a permit.

Umbakumba and Angurugu permit rules

While Umbakumba and Angurugu residents can apply for a permit, it is only for the purposes of entering and drinking at the 2 clubs:

  • Alyangula Golf Club and
  • the Arc.
