Safer Business Grant
The Safer Business Grant supports Territory businesses, including mobile businesses, to co-invest in practical security improvements to their commercial asset
Who can apply
To apply, your business must:
- be a Territory Enterprise (for-profit or not-for-profit), a landowner (landlord) or a body corporate under the Unit Titles Act (NT) 1975
- not be an excluded recipient
- owns or lease premises/mobile business in the NT
- be fully compliant with relevant legal obligations.
What you can apply for
Eligible businesses can apply for:
- up to $10,000 in a 50:50 co-contribution to undertake works to improve business security of a fixed premises
- up to $2,500 in a 50:50 co-contribution to undertake works to improve business security of a mobile business.
What is included
The proposed works must:
- address a security risk or safety issue identified for your business or help improve the resilience of your business premises
- be a practical and reasonable security improvement that provides a clear benefit for your business
- support the purpose of the grant. Funding is not available for general maintenance, routine replacements, cosmetic upgrades or normal day-to-day business expenses
- be ready to start, with the business able to complete the project within 3 months of receiving funding.

- request a quote from a supplier
- prepare the supporting materials:
- quote for the security works
- photos of the proposed work area
- if your business is a Trust, the Trust Deed
- any other supporting information you’d like the department to consider.

Applications for round 1 are now open and will close at 5pm on Monday 31 August 2026.
