Gunn Point emerging agribusiness precinct

The Gunn Point Emerging Agribusiness Precinct is a proposed pilot project of 260 hectares of land with opportunities for horticulture production.

The project aims to trial new methods of:

  • crop production
  • irrigation
  • agricultural practices in a low-risk, commercial-scale setting.

Regulatory approvals are underway, and updates will be shared as the project progresses.

This initiative is a joint effort between the Northern Territory Government and the Australian Government’s National Water Grid Authority.

Why Gunn Point

The greater Gunn Point Peninsula has been earmarked for:

  • conservation
  • recreation
  • tourism
  • primary industries such as agriculture, horticulture and aquaculture.

It's ideally located and has strong development potential, due to:

  • all weather road access
  • proximity to market
  • nearby transport hubs and a local workforce.
