Gunn Point emerging agribusiness precinct
The Gunn Point Emerging Agribusiness Precinct is a proposed pilot project of 260 hectares of land with opportunities for horticulture production.
The project aims to trial new methods of:
- crop production
- irrigation
- agricultural practices in a low-risk, commercial-scale setting.
Regulatory approvals are underway, and updates will be shared as the project progresses.
This initiative is a joint effort between the Northern Territory Government and the Australian Government’s National Water Grid Authority.
Why Gunn Point
The greater Gunn Point Peninsula has been earmarked for:
- conservation
- recreation
- tourism
- primary industries such as agriculture, horticulture and aquaculture.
It's ideally located and has strong development potential, due to:
- all weather road access
- proximity to market
- nearby transport hubs and a local workforce.
