The Water Resources division, in partnership with the community, conserve and manage water resources.

They make sure water laws and rules are followed and oversees the checking, evaluating, distributing, approving and controlling water usage.

They also deliver flood forecasting services to protect infrastructure and keep communities safe.

The division leads:

• water security in the NT
• access to water recommendations for the Territory Economic Reconstruction Commission.

They manage over 150 surface water sites and 400 groundwater sites.

They also provide evidence-based, scientific advice to the Controller of Water Resources and minister.
