Water control districts
Water control districts in the Northern Territory (NT) are areas that need improved management of water resources.
This is to avoid overusing groundwater reserves, river flows or wetlands.
Each district can have a water allocation plan developed.
Within a water control district, you must have a:
- bore construction permit
- water extraction licence - unless there's a specific exemption in place.
