Introduction
In the Northern Territory (NT) there have been 67 sites identified as the most important sites for biodiversity conservation that need further protecting.
You can read information sheets or look at maps on each of these sites. These have been written by scientists from the Department of Land Resource Management.
Each paper has background data and assesses each site as being of national or international importance for biodiversity conservation.
Of these sites, 25 are on Aboriginal lands, 24 are on pastoral land, seven are in national parks, three are near urban areas and eight are a mix of owners and uses.
