Lost property on a public bus
If you have lost property on a bus in Darwin or Alice Springs, you can submit a form online or call to notify the transport department.
Before you submit
The NT public bus system will hold on to lost property for up to 28 days depending on the item.
If the owner hasn't collected it by the end of the 28 days, then it is disposed of. Items that are soiled, smelly or perishable will be disposed of immediately.
The following items must be handed in to the NT police:
- valuable documents
- expensive jewellery
- cash over $100
- dangerous items
- illegal items or substances
- firearms or any item that may be used as a weapon.

When an item is identified as belonging to you, it can be claimed.

Opening hours are Monday to Friday 6.45am to 4.30pm and Saturday 9am to 1pm.
For Alice Springs lost property call the Buslink depot manager on (08) 8952 5611 - Monday to Friday 9am to 3.30pm.
