How to access MVR services
Changes to light vehicle inspection requirements
On 9 February 2026, light vehicle inspection requirements changed.
For more information, go to the Department of Logistics and Infrastructure website.
Before visiting an MVR office, check what you can do:
- online
- through the NT Rego app
- at your local Australia Post
- by booking an appointment at MVR Darwin
- if you're an eligible business operator, you can access vehicle registration transactions through MVR for Business.
If attending in person, bring along all relevant paperwork with you.
