How to find MVR ID numbers
There are different identification (ID) numbers that you may need to use with Motor Vehicle Registry (MVR) services.
Find useful ID numbers below.
MVR Customer ID
Use your MVR Customer ID when making updates and transactions with MVR.
It's between 1 and 6 digits long and you may have more than one if you have vehicles under:
- your name and
- joint ownership.
Where to find it
You can find your MVR Customer ID on your:
- vehicle certificate of registration
- renewal notices for licence and registration
- MVR-issued receipts.

MVR transaction number
A single-use transaction number is on each MVR renewal notice you receive.
Use this number when using MVR Quickpay and MVR phone services to renew your licence and registration.
MVR transaction numbers are valid for 12 months.
Where to find it
You can find your MVR transaction number on your most recent:
- renewal notice in the top right corner
- SMS reminder
- emailed renewal notice.
