A large number of non-government organisations (NGOs) receive Northern Territory (NT) Government funding to provide services and programs to the community.

Set up an NGO

If you’re part of a group that wants to become a legal entity, you can register as an incorporated association.

For advice on:

• setting up an NGO and applying for tax concessions, go to the Australian Taxation Office.
• setting up a charity or not-for-profit organisation, go to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission
• registering as a charity, go to the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission.
