Your tenancy and water charges

A landlord is allowed to pass on the full cost of water consumption to a tenant, provided that: 

• your rental property is individually metered
• your tenancy agreement states that the tenant must pay for water consumption.

Other charges

Your landlord can ask you to pay for any of the following: 

• electricity
• gas
• water.

You don't need to pay any other charges, levies, rates or taxes.
