Goldbanded jobfish
Goldbanded jobfish (Goldband snapper) are generally silver to dark grey with two golden stripes bordered by blue on the side of the snout and cheek.
The top of the head has a series of V-shaped yellow bands.
This is an excellent fish to eat.
Scientific name
Pristipomoides multidens.
Where they live
Goldbanded jobfish are schooling fish and live near hard, rocky and uneven sea floor and steep drop-offs.
They can be found in depths of 40m to 250m.
Size and age
Goldbanded jobfish grow to 90cm, can weigh over 8kg and live for up to 30 years.
