Giant queenfish 

Scientific name 

Scomberoides commersonnianus.

Where they live

Giant queenfish adults are found to inhabit coastal waters, frequently near reefs and offshore islands. Occasionally they are found in estuaries.

They feed on fishes, cephalopods, small invertebrates and other pelagic prey.

Size and age

They have been know to grow to 120cm and weigh in at 16kg.

Spoons and surface/mid trawl lines.
